This family-run establishment is a quiet gem, especially on weekday mornings when the atmosphere is relaxed and the service attentive. Its proximity to Taman Mahajaya makes it a convenient stop for locals and visitors seeking authentic Cantonese bites in a comfortable, unpretentious setting.

The menu showcases classic dim sum favorites with standout dishes such as the Char Chai Tao Kuih, Big Pau, and an impressive assortment of timsum, siomay, and fish cakes. The experience at Man Ting Xiang is anchored by their commitment to freshness—each dim sum is either steamed or fried upon order, ensuring optimal texture and flavor. This attention to detail preserves the delicate nature of the cuisine, avoiding the pitfalls of reheated dim sum that can lose its appeal.

Customers have remarked on the quality of the fried offerings, with crispy fried beancurd rolls and soft fried carrot cake earning particular praise. The fresh, piping-hot servings offered by staff trolleying around the dining area add to the authenticity of the experience, allowing diners to choose dishes in a traditional manner. Staff are known for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing to a welcoming ambiance that suits families, casual groups, and dim sum enthusiasts.

While some dishes like the steamed pork ribs may divide opinion, the restaurant invariably impresses with its consistent quality across more familiar dim sum staples such as chicken feet and meat rolls wrapped in pork rind or bean curd. The balanced combination of flavors and textures reflects well-honed culinary techniques emblematic of Malaysian dim sum heritage.

Man Ting Xiang’s space is simple yet inviting, fostering an environment where the focus remains squarely on the food and a genuine dining experience. It is an ideal destination for those eager to explore traditional dim sum away from crowded tourist spots, with the added benefit of prompt service and thoughtful tea refills to complement the meal.

Yes, it's been a while. I do not remember what are the dishes called. But fresh dim sums in the morning are the best!!! Especially the fried ones, I remember loving it and keep thinking about ordering more. There's just something different about Malaysia's dim sum you know? The waiting time wasn't long, we placed our order and it came soon. There is also staff walking around with dishes on the trolley so you can just take them. Recommended! If you go to Malaysia, definitely must try dim sums.

In my recent dining experience, I appreciated the emphasis on steaming the dim sum upon request to maintain its freshness. . This approach prevents potential issues such as texture inconsistency, flavor degradation, and color changes that can occur with constant reheating. . The steamed pork rib dish unfortunately fell short in terms of tenderness and was quite tough and chewy - not a personal favorite. . On the other hand, the unique offering of meat rolled in Pork rind stood out for its appealing texture. . While familiar options like meat rolled in beancurd and cabbage, mushroom with meat, chicken feet were enjoyable and typical of most dim sum establishments, they still maintained a high level of quality. . Overall, this traditional dim sum shop impressed me with its consistent quality offerings. It would be beneficial for them to increase their visibility through improved advertising efforts to attract more patrons who appreciate good food. . . JSE@20240319
